So You Don't Have To

I guess the idea behind sending out a wide variety of weird candy flavors is that kids will try anything they get in their Halloween bags. I found these.

You know what? They are pretty good. This was not an attempt, as we've seen with M&M's, to marry chocolate with something else. These are vanilla flavored through and through. There isn't a hint of the original chocolate Tootsie Roll anywhere. To me, that's just fine. The vanilla was wonderfully mellow and lasted all the way through the roll. They are the same size as the mini Tootsie Rolls, hence the "midgies" on the label. I also thought they were softer than regular chocolate ones.

So, this gets a thumbs up. You used to be able to get fruit flavored Tootsie Rolls or Tootsie Roll knock offs, but I haven't seen those in years. I like those too. The fruit flavor lasted all the way through the mini just like this does. I may try to find another bag of these to have around. Unlike M&Ms, I'm not prone to eating the whole bag in one sitting.

I found one more item I have to try over the weekend. I'm not encouraged by it, but we'll see.

Beverage:  Yorkshire Gold Tea
