Splish Splash

I'm not exactly sure what it is but the bird bath is a huge hit this spring. I came home from work last week and saw this.

I'm assuming a robin was in the bath and flew off when I pulled into the drive way. I couldn't verify that idea until this weekend. I heard the sound of tweeting on the deck. Pulling back the curtain ever so slowly, I saw this. It's kind of blurry but it's all the proof I needed that this saucer full of water is a hit.

These guys are incredibly 'messy'. When they bathe, water goes everywhere. As it was a gorgeous weekend, one which nearly had me pulling off the plastic over the windows, I sat on the deck steps for a time just to soak up the sun. The girls wandered out, sniffing the air. I looked at the deck floor. I think I should paint it again this year.

I probably should put extra where the bird bath sits just to protect it from overzealously bathing robins.
