That's Not Where I Need the Help

Saturday was grocery shopping day. I started making a list two weeks ago. As I would go through the fridge looking for ingredients for suppers, I'd encounter their absence. I want to bake things for friends. I'm out of sugar and chocolate chips. I polished off my last bit of cereal last Wednesday. I was down to, roughly, a pound of hamburger, oatmeal, a can of tomato sauce, 6 eggs and frozen corn. I knew I needed to shop. It wasn't just food. No toilet paper or toothpaste. No laundry detergent or toilet bowl cleaner. No dish soap. It all adds up.

I wound up taking advantage of some sales. The big bag of cat food was on sale. Now, I don't NEED cat food. I wouldn't NEED cat food until probably late July. But, by buying it now, when it's on sale, I won't need to get cat food until Labor Day. Bread. Buy 1, get 1 free. I can freeze bread. A big box of Golden Grahams cereal for $2. I have this recipe for bread that uses this cereal. It's really good. Now I can make it. And with July 4th upcoming, my splurges were nachos, white cheddar popcorn, Root Beer, Dr Pepper and vanilla ice cream to make ice cream floats. It wound up being a lot of stuff.

Would you like help to your car ma'am?

No. Where I need the help is once I get home. I'd like someone to haul it into the house and put it away.

Beverage:  English Breakfast tea
