Dew I or don't I?

I got an email from a friend who had missed a few posts and was getting caught up.

"You know there's a grammatical error in this post?" she said, and gave me the date. I looked. There sure is. It's one of those spelled right but obviously NOT the correct word mistakes.

I read these after I type them. Unless I am very unsure, I don't use the spell check feature, which wouldn't have helped in this case anyway since the offending word was spelled correctly. Once I've reread and am comfortable with the flow of the post, I click the handy "Publish Post" button and reread it yet again. Many times, I catch an offending word or a clunky turn of phrase after I've published the post. I apologize if you get a direct notice that I've posted and then get it again and again because I'm a wee bit of a perfectionist regarding the use of language.

But the words slip by. I know what I meant to say and if you're reading the post quickly, you may never see the oops. But I know it's there. It's like Poe's "Telltale Heart", beating louder and louder.

As the blog is a public record of my thoughts on a wide variety of topics at any given time, do I fix the error, even if it's over a month old?

Beverage: Dr. Pepper (Panera for lunch)
