Smart Does Not Define the User

It was time for a phone upgrade. I got a smart phone just like everyone else in the office. Jon had to do some set up with it because it wouldn't turn on.

I didn't realize how difficult it would be to learn a new phone. So far, I have learned how to make calls, add contacts and send text messages. The buttons to type things seem to be a bit small for my fat fingers but it took me awhile to learn to text with my other phone.

I'm "cheating" and using the manual to learn the features. At some point, I'll install apps, but that's a couple weeks down the road. I got my Google email on the phone but I also need to add my company email. I play with the phone until I get frustrated and then go do something else. I'm not sure whether to feel excited that I'm running with the tech savvy people or scared because I haven't the foggiest idea what I'm doing.

The best news is that the phone still fits in the cell phone pocket in my purse. That's very important.

I Can't Help Thinking About This

They are rather active at night. There's a couple of them, but this one stopped long enough to pose. I can't help thinking of something from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Tim: Follow. But. Follow only if ye be men of valour, for the entrance to this cave is guarded by a creature so foul, so cruel that no man yet has fought with it and lived. Bones of full fifty men lie strewn about its lair. So, brave knights, if you do doubt your courage or your strength, come no further, for death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

Tim: There he is!
King Arthur: Where?
Tim: There!
King Arthur: What? Behind the rabbit?
Tim: It *is* the rabbit!
King Arthur: You silly sod!
Tim: What?
King Arthur: You got us all worked up!
Tim: Well, that's no ordinary rabbit.
King Arthur: Ohh.
Tim: That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
Sir Robin: You tit! I soiled my armor I was so scared!
Tim: Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!
Sir Galahad: Get stuffed!
Tim: He'll do you up a treat, mate.
Sir Galahad: Oh, yeah?
Sir Robin: You manky Scots git!
Tim: I'm warning you!
Sir Robin: What's he do? Nibble your bum?
Tim: He's got huge, sharp... er... He can leap about. Look at the bones!
King Arthur: Go on, Bors. Chop his head off!
Sir Bors: Right! Silly little bleeder. One rabbit stew comin' right up!
Sir Bors gets annihilated and they all run away.

I was watching this little guy chewing on the plants in the back yard. If I could get a couple thousand, would they keep the grass trimmed?

Bathing

I cleaned out the bird bath Monday night, after coming home. It's got nice clear, fresh water in it.

I tried to take a photo of him/her bathing but it was really blurry. Shortly after this, a female cardinal stopped by to drink. She took a sip but when I tried to photograph her, she saw me and flew away. This makes me happy to see. We had such a dry winter and early spring. I'm sure the birds are grateful.

It's Really Faint

I haven't been able to sit and cross-stitch in a few days. Last night, I made time. It's one of the things that relaxes me and there's been a bit of stress lately that I can't control. It could be argued that you can't ever control stress, that you simply have to manage it. Well, I wasn't doing a good job of that. Last night, I set aside the "I should do" and spent an hour cross-stitching.

The needle shows where the light yellow sections on the left side of the skirt are. I did only one stitch of the x. I debated on finishing a section but have opted to delineate where these light yellow patches are. Now that they are done, I'll finish off the other side of the x and can work on the pale blue. I know it doesn't look like much yet, but it's coming along.
