How Long?

I wrote a letter to my friend Patt, well, part of a letter anyway. In it, I talked about the girls and what was new with them since I last wrote. As I typed out the words, I realized an anniversary had come and gone and I missed it, completely missed it.

have been with me four years now on September 4th. Four years. It's officially longer that they have lived with me than how long they lived with Val who rescued them. I cannot imagine life without them.

Notice they are looking away. They know. I haul out the camera and they don't want flashing spots in their eyes so they look away. "Jeeze, she's taking my photo again."

Happy anniversary, girls. Here's to many, many more years ahead.
